Inter legend Beppe Bergomi believes Mauro
Icardi “is not a leader”, and Joao Miranda leads
“more as an example”.
Icardi is captain of the Nerazzurri, but after a
spat with the fans earlier this season and an
ineffective showing in last night’s Derby della
Madonnina, a former captain says he isn’t
inspiring.
“We have Icardi, who is not a leader but more
of a solo artist,” Bergomi told Sky.
“He has to improve in team play. He hasn’t
repeated the match against Juventus where I
really liked what he did.
“I had thought of Miranda as being a leader,
but I think he’s more taciturn, so I think he
leads more as an example.
“At this point the leader must be [Coach
Stefano] Pioli.”
