Nigeria worst than Ghana - Micheal Essien

Panathanaikos midfielder Michael Essien has come up with  a claim that Ghana, his country is a better than Nigeria in terms of football.

Nigeria did not qualify for the last two editions of the Nations Cup after winning in 2013. Ghana on the other hand have not raised the trophy since 1963.

Speaking in an interview with BBC, Essien said despite not winning the Africa Cup of Nations for over 30 years, Ghana still stands taller than Nigeria in footballing terms.

“I think I was not yet born the last time we won
the Nations Cup, but still we are better than
Nigeria as far as football is concerned,” Essien
told the BBC.

Essien also revealed his top five nominees for the 2016 African Footballer of the Year award.

The player named John Obi Mikel of Nigeria, Victor
Wanyama of Kenya, Aubameyang of Gabon, Riyad Mahrez of Algeria and Andrew Ayew of Ghana.
