Alexis Sanchez is 'one of the best players in the world'- Chile coach

Alexis Sanchez has earned praises from Chile coach Juan Antonio Pizzi following his performance in Chile's 3 : 1 win over Uruguay, even though it  appeared the striker just recovered from injury.

The Arsenal forward suffered a thigh injury during training. Despite Arsene Wenger's warning that Antonio Pizzi wil be making a 'suicidal decision'by playing Sanchez, the former Barcelona man showed no sign of pain as he struck twice to give Chile the win over over Uruguay.

"Individuals speak for themselves," Pizzi said after the game. "Alexis is among the best players in the world. But I am more in favour of emphasising the strengths of the group. And it is what allowed us to turn the game."

Edinson Cavani had put his side in the driving seat before Eduardo Vargas's equaliser just before half-time. Sanchez was involved in that goal as well before striking in the 60th minute to increase the tally. The Arsenal forward then doubled his effort in the 76 minute by running at a through ball and then holding off two defenders and slotting the ball home.

The win puts Chile in fourth place in the South
American qualifying standings, level on points
with third-place Ecuador and still a point ahead
of Argentina.
