Coutinho a doubt for Liverpool's match

Philippe Coutinho is a doubt as Liverpool prepare for
Saturday's trip to Southampton after the player
underwent a scan on a tight hamstring, according to ESPN.

Coutinho who has been away on international
duty with Brazil returned on Wednesday night after the club's effort both Him Roberto Firmino to return the Mersey side as soon as possible.

More details added that the scan, which took
place on Thursday, was "precautionary" and meant he only missed a light training session at Melwood.

Liverpool are training on Friday afternoon before the squad head down to the south coast, and it remains to be seen whether Coutinho is among the travelling party.

Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is also a doubt for the weekend's encounter with Claude Puel's side. Lallana had to come off injured midway through England's 2-2 draw with Spain on Tuesday and Klopp told a news conference that was unsure whether the 28-year-old would be fit enough for the fixture against his former team.

"I would say 95 percent is good news, but with
Adam we don't know yet exactly," Klopp said.

"Of course, nobody comes off the pitch when they don't feel anything, and I've spoken to him already, he felt [something] but we couldn't do a scan until now, so we have to wait for this.

"As you can imagine, it will be close. The time until Southampton is short, so I don't know. Hopefully it is not too serious, but we have to wait."
