Former Super Eagles left back Celestine has hailed eagles captain Mikel John Obi for his efforts in trying to persuade his Chelsea teammate Ola Aina to play for Nigeria.
Aina who is born to Nigerian parents in London is representing England in his youth career. However, Chelsea midfielder Mikel revealed he is talking to the young star, trying to persuade him to play for his father land.
Bayaro therefore, has praised Mikel for doing his Job as a captain of the National team and commented further that former super eagles
captain and Everton defender failed to do much in trying to persuade Everton player Ross Barkley to switch his allegiance to Nigeria.
” Mikel is doing a captain’s job with Aina, he
knows his worth and clearly wants him to play
for Nigeria, it’s nice to see a captain of the
national team getting involved in serious
issues” Celestine told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” When Yobo was at Everton with a young
Barkley back then, I stand corrected though
but I think, if he had applied a little bit of
pressure, he could have been playing for
Nigeria instead of England”.
