Nigeria will beat Cameroon home and away - Onazi

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has ruled out Cameroon’s chances of defeating Nigeria home and away  in the World Cup qualifying matches next year.

Thesplayer said this in reaction to a statement released by the Cameroonian Football Federation, saying they would halt the Super Eagles good run in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

According to Onazi, the Eagles were not bothered about the Lions’ ‘aspiration’ also insisting that they wanted to win all their matches.

“We don’t care about what other people are saying; we just want to win all our games. We have won the first two, we want to win the third and the fourth even to the last match and qualify for the World Cup which is our objective. I know all of my colleagues are in line with my opinion

“It is going to be another difficult game for us; I understand that the mentality of each player in our team is that we take each game like the last we are going to play.

"We know they have a good team but by God’s grace we shall come out with good result,” he said.

Onazi said one of the key things they did was not to concentrate on Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani when the super eagles beat Algeria 3-1 in Uyo.

“Before the game I said these people are not those we were to concentrate on, because we have a lot of good players in the Algerian team who could hurt us and that is what we did and you can see
that the only goal they scored was from another player in the team not those guys people were mentioning,” he said.
