Andy Carroll confronted by gunmen

Daily Mail reports that former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll was attacked by gunmen as he
returned from training. The player managed to escape by speeding away as gunmen could not match the speed of his Mercedes G-Wagon.












As it was reported, Andy Carroll was driving home after training sessions when two men on a motorcycle closed in on his car ordered him to pull over,  stunned by their actions the player set drove off with speed back to the training facility. The gunmen were unable to catch up with the player as their bike could match the player's car speed.

Upon his arrival at the training ground, it is revealed Carroll ran quickly to the reception and asking for help which also alarmed his team mates.

More report on the also revealed that the police were called at 12:45pm and a response team was sent out.

A club statement said:

“West Ham United can
confirm an incident targeting one of our players
on Wednesday 2 November. The matter is now
being handled by the police.

“He’s progressing but it’s not at the speed that
we wanted,” Bilic said, per the Daily Mail. “He’s
working hard and getting better every day but
he’s still not ready to train with us.

“I’m speaking to him and to the medical team
every day about it. We expected him to be
back on the pitch but hopefully in a few weeks’
time he will be back.”

Carroll who has been stunned by the ordeal spent Wednesday night trying to recover at his home.
